Gladys Alexandre
Gladys Alexandre is a professor and the head of the Department of Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology. A fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, she has received multiple awards and supported a diverse community of undergraduate and graduate students throughout her productive research career.
What does being a Volunteer mean to you?
A Volunteer is someone who is able to answer and meet a need even when no one calls. Being able to lead students in research and see them develop as scientists, regardless of their backgrounds and circumstances, is one of the greatest rewards of this profession, and most likely the most important one.
