TheĀ Charles R. Burchett Extraordinary Contributions to Campus Life Award is named for the World War II veteran, former Knox County Schools administrator, and UT dean of students to honor students and student organizations for extraordinary contributions to campus life.
SHRM – Society for Human Resource Management student chapter
The UT-SHRM chapter, chartered 20 years ago this August 2022, has grown and offered opportunities for students to develop as HR professionals. Having attained national recognition for the hard work, career opportunities, and community service the chapter has completed, it is honored to receive this award.
What does being a Volunteer mean to you? How has UT empowered you to make a difference in a way you might not have imagined elsewhere?
Being a Volunteer means having the passion and spirit to help, inspire, and offer assistance to fellow students, the campus, and community. Having the Big Orange spirit means wearing Orange every Friday and cheering for your business-case competition as well as your favorite team. Being a Volunteer means bringing back alumni who mentor and assist students and help them as they transition to becoming professionals. Being a Volunteer means always finding ways to help other Vols and cheering for their wins, academic or athletic. Go Vols!
