Sherley Cruz

From representing low-wage workers to engaging in scholarship that strives to expand access to justice for our most vulnerable workers, her hope is that her work improves the lives of others.

What does being a Volunteer mean to you? How has UT empowered you to make a difference in a way you might not have imagined elsewhere?

For me, being a Volunteer means engaging in work that betters our community and is a catalyst for change.

UT empowers me to make a difference by believing in me, my ideas, and my work. Teaching at the flagship law school, within a land-grant research university, provides me with a wealth of resources, expertise, and community engagement that also helps me empower the next generation of legal activists.
