Nomination Cover Sheet
The Office of Research & Engagement is soliciting nominations for the 2019 Research and Creative Achievement Awards. The four recipients of these prestigious awards will be presented a certificate of achievement and a $3,000 monetary award at the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet in April. The Awards Committee of the Research Council will screen all nominations and make recommendations to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize tenured faculty members who have received national and/or international recognition in their field, to stimulate research and creative achievement, and to emphasize that faculty research and creative achievement are integral to the mission of the University of Tennessee.
Eligibility is limited to full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty with at least three years on the UT tenure track immediately prior to the nomination, and more than 10 years beyond winning the Chancellor’s Award for Professional Promise in Research and Creative Achievement (if applicable). You are encouraged to resubmit names of candidates who were not previously selected. Recipients of the award during the period of spring of 2009 through 2018 are ineligible for this year’s competition. Distinguished Scientists, Chairs of Excellence, and Governor’s Chairs are ineligible for these awards because of the recognition and support afforded them through these positions. UTIA faculty are not eligible.
Each small UT academic department or budgetary unit at Knoxville may submit the name and credentials of one nominee to the Awards Committee. Larger departments (20 or more faculty members) may submit two nominations.
Please complete application and submit support documentation at this website.
The deadline for receipt of materials is 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
