The Extraordinary Community Service (faculty or staff) award rewards a faculty or staff member who exhibits the Volunteer spirit in the community.

Lisa Fall

Lisa FallLisa Fall, associate professor of advertising and public relations, is committed to giving back. She has served as faculty advisor to the Public Relations Student Society of America since 2011. Since she began advising, the organization has steadily grown to become a strong source of development for many future communications professionals. Fall has also served as the Department of Public Relations’ internship supervisor for the past fourteen years. In this role, she grows and maintains a network of internship sites and managers. Fall has helped many communications students jump-start their careers, but her service extends beyond campus. She has worked as PR advisor to the local nonprofit Scarecrow Foundation since 2011. Her nominator said, “Lisa goes above and beyond the classroom to provide service to the UT community while also getting her students engaged in an array of service and experiential learning opportunities throughout the Knoxville community and beyond.”
