Payton Miller
Senior biochemistry major Payton Miller has earned renown for her masterful paintings on the Rock. She’s done a new painting every Friday night of football season since her sophomore year, most often paying for her own supplies. Her portrayals of such subjects as Smokey, Butch Jones, Josh Dobbs, and a Tennessee Walking Horse have been enjoyed by thousands of visitors to campus and were featured in local media and on the SEC Network. Miller’s memorial tribute to Pat Summitt remained in place on the Rock for over a month, and she recently welcomed Chancellor Beverly Davenport to campus with a portrait. Working on a smaller scale, she has created paintings for sale at nonprofit fundraisers, including the Hope Gala for homeless veterans. Miller is a member of the Regal Rowdies soccer fan group, where she’s left her mark with a painting on the group’s game drum, Bertha. She plans a career in medicine.
